How do I give a user editing or reporting access?

Want to update an existing user so their account can have Edit Mode or access to the Dashboards? You would accomplish this through the User Management menu item.

  1. Open the Menu - From any section, open the menu in the top right corner of eco.
  2. Open the User Management Modal - From the menu, click "User Management" to open the Modal. Again, only administrator-level accounts will have this menu item available to them.
  3. Filter Users - From this view, you can begin to filter which users you'd like to update account privileges for. You can sort by Groups on the left, or by finding specific Usernames on the right.
  4. From here you have 3 options:
    • To make a user an editor, simply click the checkbox under the "Editor" column. Admin-level accounts already have Edit mode enabled so you won't see a checkbox beside admin users under the Editor column.
    • To give a user access to Reporting Dashboard, click the button under the "Reporter" header opens a list of all the Groups. Then, you can check the box next to any Groups that you'd like that specific user to have access to on their Dashboard. This is how you mitigate which users can see which user's data on their dashboard. If no check-boxes are checked here, the user will not have the "Dashboard" item on their menu. Click 'Close' when you're done.
    • To give a user access to the Manager Dashboard, click the button under the "Manager" header opens a list of all the Groups.

The next time those specific users log in, they will see their new 'Edit Mode' or 'Dashboard' items on their menus. No need to click Publish. You can return to eco by clicking "Player" from your menu now.

Giving a user Edit Mode is a global setting, that user will be able to edit all content they are enrolled in. If you need that user to edit content they are not assigned to, you'll need to add that user to the corresponding group.
