Common Terms

When viewing articles in the knowledge base many terms will be referenced. Here are a few of the basics.

• User – Any learner or administrator that has access to the system. 

• Course – A training item, can be web-based or instructor-led. 

• Catalog – A training catalog, a method to grant or restrict training content to Users. 

• Requirement Groups – A collection of courses to be placed in a Certification or Curriculum. 

• Certification – A collection of courses grouped together by Requirement Groups with advanced expiration options. 

• Curriculum – Functionally almost identical to a Certification, except a Curriculum does not expire. 

• Console – A page or collection of Widgets. For example, the home page is a Console. 

• Widget – A collection of items or content that is displayed within a Console.
