Advanced options for locating a specific user or users.
When searching for a user, Performance looks for a match in three locations in the user’s profile: the First Name field, Last Name field, and Email Address or Username field. Therefore, some of the items returned may at first appear to not belong on the list. For example, if you are searching for John Smith and you type Smith in the Select User box, it will return “Smith, John,” whose email address might be john.smith@anywhere.com; however, it will also return Thomas Smithson whose email address is ThomasS@somewhere.com and Barbara Jones whose email address is Barbara.Jones@goldsmith.com. In each of these cases, the search string Smith was in at least one of the three fields and, therefore, returned the name.
In the search results, the list of names is sorted by default by last name and each record is presented in the order of Last Name, First Name, and Email Address or Username.
To search for a user:
On the Admin menu, select Users > Edit Users.
The Select User screen appears, type the user's name in the box, and then select the Search button. The first or last name may be sufficient to provide a short list from which you can select the user. Use the Search field on the right to filter your results in real time.
To narrow your search, you can select Options (to the right) and search based on a variety of other criteria such as organization, manager, active/inactive status, account, job role, campus membership status and approval status. Select check boxes to include the information in the list of names returned. Select the user from the list by selecting their Email Address or Username.
